Norman W. Waitt, Jr., Chairman Chairman, WaittCorp, LLC Founder and Chairman of WaittCorp, LLC, Norm Waitt has an active leadership and vision setting role in all his companies. His uncanny sense for opportunity led to his initial venture, Gateway Computers, which he had founded with his brother, Ted and their partner, Mike Hammond. Since that time, he has continued to pursue opportunity through the investment in and development of the operating companies and partnership investments that are now part of WaittCorp, LLC. Included among his investments are NRG Media, McCarthy Group Inc., Election Systems & Software and Gold Circle Films. It is the success of his endeavors that enabled him to establish his nonprofit charity, The Kind World Foundation. Located in his home state of South Dakota, the foundation facilitates numerous community-based service projects. Norm is a graduate of Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa and holds degrees in business and economics.
John Schuele Executive Vice President, CFO and Treasurer, Waitt Media, Inc. and Gold Circle Entertainment Prior to joining WaittCorp LLC, John held a series of top management positions, including Senior Manager of Audit for Deloitte & Touche, Vice President of Finance and Strategic Planning for Convergys and Vice President of Teleservices Sales and Operations at First Data Corporation. John uses his diverse background in business specialties and industries and his financial and strategic planning expertise to identify potential partners and investments for WaittCorp. The Nebraska native received a BSBA in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is active in the community, participating in mentoring programs as a volunteer and board member for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Omaha as well as the Omaha TeamMates Program established by former Nebraska Head Coach, Tom Osborne. John also serves on the Omaha Advisory Board and the Advisory Committee of Ronald McDonald House in Omaha.
Robert Emmert General Partner, Alta Communications Bob has been with Alta Communications since 1996. He specializes in identifying and managing investments in the traditional sectors of the media industry, including radio and television broadcasting, cable television, outdoor advertising, and other advertising-based or cash flow-based businesses. In addition to his media focus, Bob has investing experience and has served in a board capacity in the wireless and wireline telecommunications industry. Bob graduated Cum Laude from Georgetown University with a degree in Finance. He currently serves in a Board capacity for several privately-held companies including Liberman Broadcasting, Inc., Mid-Maine Communications, Inc. and Millennium Radio Group, LP.
Wayne Mack Partner, Alta Communications
Wayne is a Partner of Alta Communications and joined the firm in 2003. He specializes in identifying and managing investments in all aspects of the media and communications industries. Prior to joining Alta, Wayne worked at McDermott, Will & Emery where he participated in international and domestic equity and debt financings, leveraged buy outs and recapitalizations, on-shore and off-shore fund formations and media and private equity transactions. Wayne was also a partner at the South African law firm of Damant Bostock, Inc. Wayne graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, with a BA in industrial psychology and a Bachelor of Law (LLB). Wayne currently serves in a Board capacity for several companies, including, PanAmerican Outdoor Advertising, LLC, Rapid Communications, LLC and JW Broadcasting, LLC.
Dana Bradford President and Partner, McCarthy Capital Corporation McCarthy Capital, located in Omaha, Nebraska, is a private equity firm with nearly $1 billion in assets under management. In addition to the NRG Media board, Dana serves as a director of Customer Service Profiles, which provides customer satisfaction analysis; Gold Circle Films, a movie production studio based in Beverly Hills, California; Vornado Air LLC, a manufacturer of premium branded room comfort appliances based out of Andover, Kansas; and Southwest Value Partners a real estate holding company. Dana graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Arizona.
Mary Quass President/CEO, NRG Media LLC Prior to NRG Media, Mary was the President/CEO of NewRadio Group, a company she started in 2002. Originally, Mary started in radio in 1977 as an account executive and went on to own Quass Broadcasting Company, which merged with Capstar Broadcasting Partners to form Central Star Communications, Inc., in January 1998. Mary served as President and Chief Executive Officer, overseeing all aspects of the radio stations in her region. Central Star Communications was a division of Capstar Broadcasting Partners which merged with Chancellor Media in July of 1999 to become AMFM, Inc. Central Star Communications consisted of 66 stations in 14 markets located in the Midwest. She received her BA Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Mary serves as a Board member on the National Association of Broadcasters, United Fire & Casualty Company, US Bank, Mercy Medical Center, Quarton-McElroy Broadcaster Foundation, and other local boards in Cedar Rapids. In the summer of 2005, Mary was three times honored by Radio Ink Magazine when she was named to the lists of The 40 Most Powerful People in Radio and The 50 Most Influential Women in Radio.
